In GX2, the My Workspaces zone introduced the concept of personalized content in the left-side navigation panel. In GX3, the power of My Workspaces grows, with new options for sharing files between colleagues and workgroups.
All new and upgrade GX3 installations come complete with an additional, Workspaces profile group. That change - linked with the new Subscribe to Workspaces choice on the My Workspaces right-click menu - means fast, easy links to other users' files at your site.
To illustrate:
Perhaps you are on a project team with three other members. You can of course share files by creating and sending/linking projects within the team. Now GX3 gives you another way:
Just click Workspaces
in the left-side navigation panel
to see My Workspaces. Then right-click on the My Workspaces
listing in the top part of the pane.
Select Subscribe to User Files on the right-click menu. That opens the Subscribe to User Files: Author dialog.
In the Subscribe to Workspaces: Author dialog, select the team members whose folders you wish to place in your My Workspaces zone, then click Select.
Individual folder links then list in your My Workspaces area, for those selected team members. Those team members can do the same with your Workspaces folder.
